FPIES UK

FPIES UK is a UK-registered charity run by volunteers and supported by a medical board with expertise in paediatric food allergy. FPIES (food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome) is a severe form of non-IgE-mediated food allergy, which is characterised by delayed onset of profuse vomiting after ingestion of trigger foods. The most severe FPIES reactions can progress to shock, requiring hospital treatment. Presentation of FPIES is most commonly during infancy with introduction of formula or solid foods. Our vision is: to see babies/children with FPIES diagnosed as accurately and early as possible; and for all persons affected by FPIES to receive the medical and emotional support that they need. Our aims are: to raise awareness of FPIES; to provide up to date information to the public, affected families and the medical community about FPIES; and to provide practical and emotional support to families affected by FPIES.
