Dr Jennie Rankine
General Practitioner & GPWSI addiction, Cardiff & Vale University Health Board,
Jennie completed all her training at the University
of Nottingham before heading to Cardiff in 2008 to start her GP career. In
2020, during the pandemic, she was invited to join the Cardiff and Vale GP
Substance Misuse Shared Care Scheme and has never looked back, taking on the
oversight of the scheme in 2023! She still works as a GP in Llandaff (home of
Roald Dahl) and in her role as part of the Cardiff Addictions Unit trains and
supports fellow GPs in Cardiff and Vale to deliver valuable community substance
misuse care. She’s married with three daughters, loves the great outdoors, and
at weekends can be found heading for the wild!
