Dr Bill Laughey

Dr Bill Laughey, PhD, MBChB, DGM, MRCGP, FHEA

Dr Bill Laughey has been a GP in York for over 25 years, including 20 years as a partner in Haxby Group. He has been a GP Trainer, a GP Appraiser and a medical educator at Hull York Medical School. His PhD research is in empathy and how we teach this to clinical students. He now works as a senior medical scientist in Reckitt, a company that specialises in self-care, where his work includes research in pain and the gender pain gap. He is married to Kathy, a GP, and they have three children. Outside of work, he enjoys theatre (the acting kind), walking and running.
