Action Bladder Cancer UK

Action Bladder Cancer UK was set up in 2009 by a group of urologists and patients who were committed to improving outcomes for bladder cancer patients. Their concern was the low profile of such a common cancer and the lack of both awareness (amongst the public and health professionals) and critical research funding.

We have four main strands to our work:

  • Improving outcomes for bladder cancer patients
  • Improving research into bladder cancer
  • Improving patient support
  • Raising awareness of bladder cancer and the symptoms

We are working to improve outcomes for bladder cancer patients by:

  • Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms among the public so they seek advice sooner
  • Health professional ABC UK Education Programme
  • Improving the treatment and management of bladder cancer to increase patient survival rates in line with that achieved for other common cancers.
